Clinical Hypnotherapist and Solution-Focused Therapist. Member of the UK Hypnotherapy Council (UKHC)

I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner offering Hypnotherapy and Solution-Focused Therapy in Serón and The Almanzora Valley, in Almería, Spain. I have been trained by Adam Eason (the UK´s leading evidence-based hypnotherapist), at Adam Eason's School for Therapeutic Hypnosis. Here I was trained in various psychotherapeutic applications including evidence-based hypnotherapy, solution-focused therapy, NLP, Gestalt, Mindfulness, and other cutting-edge tools . As a practicing Vipassana meditator I recognise the benefits of Mindfulness-Based Hypnotherapy to aid with lowering anxiety.

I am a member of the UK Hypnotherapy Council which ensures that I adhere to their codes of ethics and carry out Continued Professional Development (CPD) to keep up-to-date with the latest research and techniques.

One of the biggest learnings I've received is that no two people present an issue, (for example, anxiety) in the same way. Everyone is unique, with their own nuances of how they experience and perceive their issue based on a set of personal beliefs. For this reason, I use a variety of techniques to suit you, because a "one-size fits all approach" just does not take you into account as an individual.

I have worked for 23 years as a Primary School Teacher in both Wales and The Canary Islands. I also have a Diploma in Counselling which I used to support children and/or their parents during difficult transitions at school. Apart from being an experienced teacher I am a mum to two primary-aged boys so I understand the challenges that some parents and children may face.

I'm also a keen runner and since utilising self-hypnosis as a normal part of my life I have applied it to running half-marathons and making improvements in my runner's mind (more on this in my blog).

Of Welsh/Irish decent, I was born and raised in Wales and as a child experienced my share of 'not fitting in'  (as well as many wonderful ones) yet it is the 'feeling like the black sheep' that has dogged me for most of my life right from primary school, through to my teens and a good part of my adulthood.

After university I underwent a course of integrative psychosomatic therapy under Francisco Bontempi in Tenerife and finally separated myself from my fears and illusions which were causing me to have panic attacks, low self-esteem, depressive episodes, and a deep fear of feeling abandoned … and won.

Through my experiences I knew my path is to help and support people who struggle by applying some of the psychotherapeutic techniques I have experienced and to deepen my learning. This is what drew me to study clinical hypnotherapy. For me there is nothing more rewarding than giving clients a feeling of hope and empowering them with therapeutic tools so they too can be free and move forward in their lives, with all those wild dragons under control.

As a mum I know all about the ups and downs of life with kids. Kids learn new stuff on a daily basis and they change continuously. As a parent you need to adapt to these changes and have to hold back your own fears and concerns. I truly understand how hard this can be. I also understand that as a teacher for many years, the demands of the curriculum mean that hard-working teachers find it difficult to support children and senior students enough regarding their mental health and this concerns me. My aim is to reach out and support not just adults but also young people (and parents) who are struggling with personal issues.

Insufficient sleep for both adults and kids leaving you feeling shattered?
Too much stress at school or at work?
Believe me, I know those feelings.
But I truly believe that there always is a way to a happier and healthier life.

If you are up for a change for the better in your life I would love to help you and guide you to find your way to a life full of happiness and vitality.

I specialise in working with:
